SEPTEMBER BEAUTY FAVOURITES

The items I bought last month and used the most. All are from Sephora (Or can be purchased from Mecca in Australia) and MAC Cosmetics.

First up, Hourglass's Ambient lighting palette ($58 or $76 in Aus). I bought this after all the hype about it and have not put it down since. I use the lightest shade the most but all three are beautiful. I use these as highlighters but they are technically finishing powdersThey last well, go on smoothly, and I find they aren't glittery as I find the MAC Mineralize skinfinish's can be sometimes, although I do love these too! My other favourite highlighters are MAC MSF ($32) in 'soft and gentle' and 'lightscapade', and NARS Albatross ($30)

I'm a sucker for packaging and pink lipsticks at the moment so I just had to buy YSL Corail Jalouse (32) Rouge Volupte Lipstick  ($55 in Aus, $34 in the U.S.). It's a creamy consistency and has a relatively opaque coverage. It's a beautiful warm toned pink with a bit of coral.

My next favourite is Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturisor ($43/$20.50) which I've been meaning to try for a while but got a bit put off by the price. It's worth the money though, and it's actually better value to buy the travel size (although it only comes in two shades). This gives a nice coverage but isn't heavy, and lasts well. I usually wear it under MAC Mineralise skinfinish natural for extra coverage and to set it.

My new favourite lip balm, Smiths Rosebud Salve ($6), I have this by my bed every night and it keeps my lips hydrated all night long. It's actually multipurpose and can be used on skin as well but I prefer Lucas's Paw Paw ointment for this.

I find it hard to go past my MAC palettes but i felt like trying some Nars, and the Kalahari Duo Eyeshadow palette ($35) did not disappoint. It's not really intensely pigmented but has a nice payoff and texture and is great for a quick everyday eye. The colours can look very different over a base like MAC paint pots which is how I prefer to wear them.

I love these Too Faced Melted lipsticks ($21). I haven't tried many liquid lipsticks apart from OCC Lip tars, but these are so pigmented and opaque and last really well. It's a shame they don't have a bigger colour range!
